I think Sony have done really well this generation. The 1st party efforts have been for the large part, good. There are the obvious fuckups, but everyone has them.
Where I think SCE did the best this generation was with new IP. Uncharted, inFamous, LittleBigPlanet to name a few. Uncharted has taken over God of War as Sonys 2nd biggest franchise, and they now have a bunch of B Tier and C Tier games to plug holes in dry months. Naughty Dog is now one of the highest rated developers on the market and the creativity of Media Molecule is 2nd to none.
Where SCE have been poor, for me, has been on the handheld side of things. While some efforts on PS3 are arguably the best in the industry, the efforts on PSP were relatively poor. They seem to have changed that more recently with PSV, but for the most part Sony just didnt seem to care.
Oh, and SCEJ need to push games out faster. -cough- The Last Guardian -cough-
