Concern troll is the more appropriate term. On topic: It isn't a matter of Japanese and non-Japanese IPs. It's about games, period. A company will obviously lose market presence, if release schedules for their systems amount to nothing more than a slow trickle. Aside from the 3DS's last three months, when was the last time that a Nintendo system really had a steady flow of new games? Also, it was probably too much to ask for that a few months would suddenly make up for two years of next to nothing. A lot of Nintendo's decline is rooted in their recent mindset that they want to sell hardware due to anything but games. Stereoscopic 3D, Gamepad, Miiverse. Somehow secondary/tertiary stuff like that took priority over making the best games in the business. There isn't any country that is lost to Nintendo, because they have a healthy amount of global IPs. But Nintendo has lost a lot of goodwill on behalf of consumers with their decisions in recent years (2011 onwards). A turnaround won't be achieved easily (especially on the home console side where they basically backstabbed the Wii), but it's not an impossible task. And if nothing else helps, a new console generation works like a reset. Nintendo can do better next time. |
There are 68 3D movies this year VS. 45 3D movies last year.

How could you say that Nintendo is out of touch for doing stereoscopic 3D.
3D TVs always sell more then HD TVs during same point of life spam.
How could you say anything bad about 2011 when the only thing they did was stereoscopic 3D which gave them such exclusives as Resident Evil Mercenaries & Resident Evil Revelations & 3rd Resident Evil 3DS & Kingdom Hearts 3D & Dragonball 3DS & Batman 3DS & Persona 3DS & Ninja Gaiden 3DS & Zone of the Enders 3DS & so on & so fort.

You saw E3 2010 & 2011 for 3DS.
And you saw E3 2011 & 2012 for PS Vita.
How could you say Nintendo has lost a lot of goodwill on behalf of consumers since 2011.
And just how do you think the PS4 & 720 is going to do after their first month in each major country?
If you think the sales of the PS4 & 720 is going to be any better, then you might be disappointed.
The ability to play the entire Home Console games on the controller will make it sale first amongst consumers who don't live by themselves.
But if you want to wait til E3 2K13 to compare the 3 Home Consoles to each other, then go ahead. And see who has the better library shown for their own Home Consoles during E3 2013. In fact I advise you to watch E3 2013 for all 3 Home Consoles and compare them, but until then you can't really pass judgement like the other 2 are going to do any better sI their Home Consoles. If all the PS4 & 720 can do is just more better graphics then it's them who have lost touch with consumers.
