Why would an optional mechanic be a core criticism of the game? 100% isn't really important unless you want it to be.

if one want 100%, it's boring as hell scaning everything. and even for those who are not completionists it's still necessary to scan things the whole time. it would be much better if scanning was in fact optional and didn't contributed to the 100 %.

But "wanting" 100% implies you are having fun doing it? If you don't enjoy that part there's no compulsion to do so. You still get the vast majority of what the game has to offer. Do you complain when it's impossible/boring to get 100% in an MMO or Zelda or Skyrim?

Honestly if that's the greatest complaint you have about a game, it's near perfect.

exploring and looking for power ups is fun, scanning every shit you see (including one chance only tings) is boring.

yes, I find that game near perfect, but needs less scanning focus.
