As for 2001 tech, that's nonsense. The GPU is 2011 tech and we have no idea about the CPU, just that it's from the PowerPC 7xx line. It's the same line that Gekko and Broadway are from but it isn't 3 Broadways duct-taped together. And it should be noted that Broadway outperforms Xenon at general processing tasks due to the Out Of Order Execution and much shorter pipeline. Expresso also has those advantages over Xenon but with 3 times as many cores and a higher clockspeed.

We do know about the cpu, that's the whole problem. Developers are calling it "horrible slow" compared to this gen and it's the reason why games like Metro Last Light and BF4 aren't coming to the Wii U. Right now developers need to work around it just to make current gen games run, let alone ps4/ nextbox titles.

“It's a very CPU intensive game. I think it's been verified by plenty of other sources, including your own Digital Foundry guys, that the CPU on Wii U on the face of it isn't as fast as some of the other consoles out there. Lots of developers are finding ways to get around that because of other interesting parts of the platform.

And yes 1 gig of ram does make a difference compared to 512mb of the ps3/ 360 when it comes to textures. But if doubling the ram makes a difference, then don't you think going from 8 to 1 gig makes an even bigger leap, especially if the GDDR5 is so much faster? Trust me we have only seen a glimpse of what the ps4 can do, and 2 years from now we will probably all be laughing at KZ4's graphics.
