the western 3rd party AAA developers hate Nintendo because Nintendo was THE company that moved center of videogaming from incompetent West to Japan they were unable to compete with quality of their games on their platforms so they began supporting Sega and then when more capable and then financially secure company -Sony entered the market they treated Sega as leper. They succeeded in the end with appealing to primitive crowd.
This is the only reason why we hear constant stream of primitive excuses why not support N64, Gamecube, Wii and WiiU.
They of course fear them now because Nintendo is the only platform holder whose success is not dependent on their support
