Epic will bring tools and support for UE4 to the Wii U when publishers demand it, UNLESS it's easier to port a title on UE4 for the PC lead SKU to UE3 for the Wii U SKU.

The Wii U should have an installed userbase around 8-10m+ before the end of the year, and like I've already mentioned publishers aren't going to leave that sort of money on the table now that there's a Nintendo console with a superior marketshare and a standard rendering pipeline. Unless of course they don't want to stay in business.

You said it yourself, it's easier and less expensive to port the wii-u version to UE3, which is the way it should be. Personally I consider myself a graphic whore and I want to see stuff like UE4 being pushed next gen. Worse thing that could happen is the Wii-U reaching a 70m installbase and developers using it as the lead platform. The "real next gen machines" would only use a fraction of what they are capable of in multiplatform games and we would be looking at the same graphics we got now for another 6 to 7 years. I pray to the gaming gods that this won't happen and I don't think it will either.

Ideal sitiuation for me is Wii-U having the Mario's and other iconic Nintendo franchises that will rock, sell loads of copies but don't require cutting edge rendering effects. And have Sony and MS try to beat each other in nextgen-eyeball-melting-graphics. It's not that I want to hate on Nintendo and I can understand that loads of people are excited about it's upcoming games. However it's pretty pointless to keep defending the Wii-U specs when everyone knows that we aren't going to see stuff like real time GI on the Wii U.

Go check what UNLESS mean, I'll wait.
