The only console at danger of being discontinued at this point isn't WiiU though. Nintendo has the $$ to keep supporting even if it doesn't sell as well as they expect it to.
Part of the reason Dreamcast got discontinued is the fact that SEGA couldn't financially support the thing anymore. Nintendo isn't really in that situation.
Seriously though the fk they doing. They overpaniced when it came to 3DS, and ripped off all dev towards it. Now they're like "Oops maybe we didn't need to put THAT much resources towards it. Our mistake."
