For a game company that has been "dominating" the last 2 decades, you'd think they wouldn't have taken so many losses, i mean, at the very least you'd think they would have made at least a little more money than their direct competitor(Nintendo), but no. In fact sony only made more money in 2 of those years, that's weird, cus you just said they had been dominating, I guess I misread what you said. |
People always need to bring money and profits into the equation as some kind of defence mechanisme. Fact is ever since Sony entered the console market they crushed the competition for a reason. This gen they definetly messed up though, mostly because of arrogance and a clumsy architecture that allowed the competition to have the better looking multiplatform games, a better online service and a pricepoint that was almost half of Sony's console for a long time.
Sony won't make the same mistake twice though and this it seems like MS is getting cocky: forcing Kinect, always online, subscription fees etc. At the same time Nintendo is already out of the race before it even started if you ask me. It's selling like 30k units a week now, let alone when the real next gen consoles/ game engines hit the market. LEts be optimistic and say Wii-U sales remain as they are, then we are looking at around 8m units sold over a period of 6 years...
