So did Sony with the PS2. We all know what happened there.
Compared to last-gen, North America isn't anywhere near being "on lockdown". If things changed so drastically from the 7th to 8th gen when the PS2 was dominating everything else with a ~40million lead against the XBox, there's no reason a 15million difference can't be overcome next-gen.
