After all Call of Duty changed things but nobody expected it when the first COD came out so impossible to predict, to be honest it's not exactly a nice direction it took it in either so best not think about that one :p

Industry is all about the cash more than ever so any change will be a bad exploited change.

Realistically, yea.

We can only say which games could make a difference, with no certainty. I mean Resident Evil 4 really help spark the zombie theme in games, Halo pushed FPS's, after Pokemon made Nintendo handhelds big, and I bet Super Mario Bros. in 1985 was unexpected as well.

I see nothing that shows an obvious shift in the industry, maybe Monster Hunter 4 for 3DS since that will be a big blow to Vita sales in Japan, but it won't change the way we game.
