Bigger for who? You are overestimating the size of Nintendo's E3 audience.

I don't think you understand that every publication will have a write up and summary of the events of E3. Their press conference will get more views and press coverage than any Nintendo Direct. I'm interested in what Nintendo is bringing, but I haven't seen any of the Nintendo Directs (nor would I even know where to watch them). I've watched their E3 press conference for the past 6 years, so they lost an interested person who is outside of the core Nintendo fan audience.

So you can find links to E3 presentations but you don't know how to get links to NDs?

They're plastered on front page threads of gaming forums similar to E3 streams.

I guess I'm just not on at the right times. I remember the first where they announced some Wii U stuff (X and SMTxFE). I never saw the conference.
