No. E3 brings the media at large and the gaming community/media into the unveiling. Nintendo DIrect is a private affair that only people who subscribe to Nintendo tend to watch or Nintendo passers, which is still small. They've never done more than 1 million+. Even if the gaming media linked everyone to a Nintendo direct the hit would most likely go back to the Youtube page. The only people unaccounted for would be the people who just read the article, and the chances are higher that the majority of the people who read the reports mainly are gamers and went to see the noise was all about. To put Nintendo Direct and E3 conferences on the same level is rather foolish.

doesn't change the fact nintendo will still be at E3 and the ones who would watch their conference will watch the directs. in the end we'll have E3 time + direct time wich means more time for games to be showngames so what's the difference? Is the hate so big that even the way nintendo reveals their games will be hated now? Its not at if they are doing hand to hand combat for points with people.

Without a major conference they are no better than a Capcom. Half the reason Activision (of all the huge publishers) doesn't have a conference is because Microsoft have been showing off their top games for most of the gen. Its mostly Microsoft though this gen with Guitar Hero and COD. Sony unveiled Destiny at their showing even though we all knew it was coming.
