I'm glad someone else remembers this. Not to mention nearly every single big publisher over the last couple of years has been citing the decline of E3, it's waining relevance and the difficulty getting adequate exposure for their products given the ridiculous amount of competition. Also there is a reason that the last couple of E3s have been pretty poor for gamers, it's because E3 has simply become a vehicle for trying to convince the mainstream media what the next big thing is going to be.
It remains to be seen if this change will be a good one but change doesn't automatically make it bad.
