Well, my complaints for newer Super Mario Bros games did actually begin with Super Mario World when I was younger =P
The game did not feel like a worthy successor to Super Mario Bros. 3. It actually wasn't until Mario Galaxy that I had a game that felt like the real next Mario game.
I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.
