I'm in Canada so I don't have access to Cartoon Network and Nick but from what I remember when I used to vacation into the US CN was godly back in the day. Yu Yu Hakusho, DBZ, Champloo all these great animes and shows...then...they shifted into this CN format and it was just shit...but when they added back the DC nation block and Star Wars Clone Wars was nothing but high quality..things seemed all good...then they cancelled all of the DC shorts and Clone Wars was cancelled by Disney..it just seems like they're falling back into that kiddy shit again |
Yeah, I'm Canadian too. I Just remember that one time I went to my cousin's house who had a satelite. It was Saturday, but Cartoon Network had Dragon Ball original, Justice League, and Samurai Jack playing. I was in awe. They screwed up with DC Nation. They cancelled Young Justice. It was replaced with those Teen Titan shorts, except it's a full show now. The Batman doesn't look any good from what I saw. Clone Wars cancellation was a stupid decision on Disney's part, just like Spectacular Spider-man was. I've never understood why you can't retool a show that's extremely popular to suit your needs.

The characters have actual depth and grow over the course of the series. Sadly Korra doesn't quite match up so far. The conclusion (not the battle) of the first season was a total anticlimax, and felt like they chickened out and didn't really commit. The ensemble cast lacks the depth and variety of TLA, and I find Korra to be kinda annoying most of the time. The love polygon thing in the middle of the story feels poorly executed so far. At least there is Asami Sato and Amon was a great villain which saved it. I hope that the second season is better. |
I agree about Korra, it was too short to go anywhere. The love story was my biggest complaint, you don't do the crap that Mako does and then get the girl. Even Korra, I mean, he screwed over his ex and you're going to take him? WTF? Amon was a great villain, but his history was too shortly told. The second season is the first season. Each season is going to be broken up into 2 books each. So the next 12 episodes is going to be Book 2: Spirit. But I don't think it can get much better since each book is going to be self contained like the first 12 episodes were. There just isn't time to do more. Plus Air Bender is as good as it is because of Zuko's tale. Zuko was Ang's counter part, and he was the show's support pillar. Zuko's character development is actually greater than Ang's so to see both their tales come together... I was in awe. Korra just doesn't have that and most likely never will.
