The 3DS on pre-install firmware has its CPU clocked at twice the clock speed of the Wii CPU. Plus the 3DS has a 2010 CPU, while the Wii has a 2005 CPU, so the 3DS can process probably 8 times as much as the Wii on Firmware 1.0.0-0. |
MHz are not an accurate measure of power between different architectures. I don't believe for a second that the 3DS CPU is eight times more powerful than the Wii's. The 3DS CPU may be newer, but on the other hand as a handheld component it has to be smaller and consume less power, which limits its power relative to a console CPU.
