Don't worry about 3D effect getting in the way of the actual presentation, I have seen almost every 3D Movie in 2013, and they seem to format it during each scene in a different particular way to not take away from the actual presentation.
So 2013 sounds like a perfect year for you to enjoy a 3D Movie the way you want it to be like. It seems like the people in Hollywood keep finding ways to set the 2 stereoscopic images up to make a more better experience across the board, as much as possible as more time keeps going by.
