To get third party games.Duh.
Soundwave said: Nintendo doesn't understand the concept of new IPs, honestly, lol. Let these developers work on something new, maybe (just maybe) one of them will make the next Minecraft or Angry Birds or Plants Vs. Zombies.
This generation, so far, they've created Sakura Samurai, Pushmo, Dillon's Rolling Western, Harmoknight, Nintendoland, Aura Aura Climber, Tokyo Crash Mobs, Freaky Forms, and Wonderful 101. Fluidity technically falls outside this generation, albeit barely. Spirit Camera is basically a Fatal Frame spinoff, so it doesn't count.
They have new IPs. They obviously can't go it alone though. They must pay third-parties money to make ports for their console.
Gamerace said: Unless the franchise in question fits in with the genre's Nintendo does or genre's that mesh well with Nintendo's target market I don't think they should. Let MS/Sony have the Assassin's Creed/GTA/CoD crowd. There's no point fighting over that, Nintendo will lose. If they want to pay to make Sega games exclusive or Lego games or niche genres like horror or SRPG or such I can see it working. At least it means people who love those types of games will get Nintendo's console. But you'll never get the core over unless Nintendo really ups it's online game, and even then it'll be hard.
A healthy ecosystem is one without any apex predators.
FrancisNobleman said: they would better use that money on booze and hookers. multiplats move less hardware than exclusives.
If you can't pay a hooker for a blowjob, what makes you think you can get a threesome out of her?
DieAppleDie said: No, not at all, not a cent, its not worth the invesment, most of those games can be downloaded for free on PC,.
So you're asserting Nintendo can't even secure with money what third-parties put out on PCs for free? Stop trolling.

This man gets it.
DaRev said: Screw that idea, and tell all them 3rd Parties to go screw themselves as well. Nintendo shouldn't give them a dime of its money to bail them out. All them bitches will go broke eventually with their 1 or two hit games every five years, on increasingly expensive Unreal Engines. When it's all said and done and when the dust clears Nintendo will still be making money off its games and sure bet its library of IPs will be expanded over the years, with or without 3rd party help.
Nintendo can't make money off its games if it doesn't sell systems, and it's not selling systems because there are no third-party games on the system. Ergo, Nintendo must pay off third-parties to get multiplatform games on their console. QED.
