There is a difference between playing a video game and interacting with digital media.
I could film a movie with 100s of alternate scenes and let the view choose their path. But that would not be a video game.
I could write a book with alternate chapters and let the reader choose their own adventure, but that would not be a video game.
The Walking Dead is a fantastic story with well written character, but it is not a video game. It feels like a video game, but it isn't a full video game. It's a collection of alternate scenes with choices and quick time events.
I don't have a problem with you or anyone else calling it a video game. I just consider this new genre too different from real video games to personaly regard it as such.
