Maybe so they'll be calm and won't engage in less desirable activities? Would rather have prisoners just be playing games in their cells rather than fighting or whatnot.

lol, yeah because video games are calming non-violent entertainment.

I'd rather prisons provide education and provide therapy. Prison is not supposed to be a video game camp. It's punishment for breaking the law and should feel like punishment.
