So I played the NSMBU demo at Walmart- Is it supposed to be nearly the exact same visual wise as the Original?

I doubt you won't be able to tell the difference (visuals) between a current-gen COD and a next-gen COD.

there is already noticable differences between the PC and console versions so it will be easily noticable when next gen CoD uses new engines
