I don't think so. but I think it is better business to make a new engine for the new platforms. That way they get rid of obsolete stuff and it is easier to develop new features. The development will be more dynamic and produces lesser bugs (keeping compatibility is an endless source of bugs). So I fully understand the decision to have UE3 for older platforms and UE4 for newer. And I also think they could easily support WiiU with UE4. But they probably don't expect much devs that are customers for UE to develop for WiiU, and for these cases UE3 might be enough. |
Directly supporting WiiU defeats the point of developing UE4 for higher end systems, leading me back to my point that they have, and still support, UE3 for that very reason, for mid range PC, PS3, 360 and now, WiiU.
