| Tachikoma said: That's nice, but i don't see why you couldn't give a developer name, in all the years i have been working in the industry unless the engine was proprietory the NDA never extended to not being able to mention the 3rd party engine it was running on. Additionally, even if the NDA *had* covers that, the very fact a member of the media knew about it would suggest that the NDA had already been broken - So the only conclusion i can draw from this is that you've either been lied to, or worried that in giving the studio name your claim could easilly be debunked. |
No, it's more about simply knowing the guys that work there and not wanting to break their trust. I'm not under and NDA from there as there hasn't been any official interviews, studio tours, etc...yet. But I talk with them often and they know I can separate myself from my inner journalist. In other words, they don't need ot tell me "off the record". Further, the game is still unannounced (obviously given that they're still looking in which engine to use) and they've yet to even announce their support for Wii U at this time. I have no intentions of ruining some great friendships, and a solid working relationship, all for the sake of name dropping. I suppose you wouldn't want to name your studio, would you?
And as I mentioned anyway, it neither validates anything at this point anyway but merely notes that some are indeed considering UE4 for Wii U. Which even you said was possible...if even at just 5%.
