| Soundwave said: Is Metal Gear Rising an EA game? What about BioShock Infinite? Metal Gear Solid V is an EA game? How about Grand Theft Auto V? Star Wars 1313? Aliens: Colonial Marines (sucks, but this was even announced for the Wii U)? Tomb Raider? etc. etc. etc. Ubi Soft is only one publisher, and even they have given the Wii U the screw over with Rayman (probably far more offensive than anything EA has done). This is kinda like saying someone is your best friend, but they just happened to sleep with your girlfriend that one time, other than that they're swell. How many of you even buy that many multiplats on the Wii U or 3DS? I'd bet many of the people making a huge fuss about this are doing so because they want a talking point against some idiot Sony/MS fanboy, moreso than the games themselves, lol. |
Almost none of those games were initiated when WiiU and its dev kits/ environment were available. These devs/publishers made a decision when they first created the timeline and financial plan... wellll before WiiU was anywhere near viable. They don't have infinite resources to just throw new people on a project when its 1/2 or further along. Its remarkable Nintendo got any ports at launch as it is.
SW1313 hasn't been confirmed for anything AFAIK.
Aliens:CM is a failure of a project. WiiU's version was planned all along as a later launch, but since the product sucks so bad, its likely to be cancelled. That has nothing to do with WiiU and everything to do with the crap product.
Rayman was a decision likely made during WiiU's launch. It has nothing to do with tech and everything to do with behind the scenes discussions about possible sales on the much larger PS360 userbase. I'm willing to bet it will run noticeably better on WiiU as it was built on that platform. Really, this game supports my argument and as it proves over and over again, that devs/publishers will want all games on as many platforms as possible. It simply costs too much to create a game now.
Look at my games list and wishlist (link in sig). I only want to own WiiU. I don't want to waste money on a second piece of hardware. None of MSony exclusives are worth that to me. I have more 3rd party games now and almost had more on my Wii. (definitely had more on my PS3)
Fact is you're making your narrow view of gaming fit an industry. EA has an irrational issue against Nintendo because they likely feel burned in some fashion regarding Origin. Other publishers will be there and likely EA will turn around in 2014. Granted I only care about their Battlefield franchise. Everything else sucks anyways. (IMO)
Technology will not be the reason WiiU gets ignored by 3rd parties (like it was for Wii). There may be other reasons... but it won't be for any engines/tech.
