looking at that pic and without being a doc i would say it looks like a very "good" fracture and shouldn't be as bad as some complicated stuff in the ankle or something. but maybe i'm wrong.
btw that happens from time to time in football (soccer) and is not really "maybe the most gruesome injury every seen on tv", not to talk about extreme sports.
