I so disagree with that, heh. I think the OP was maybe well thought out for someone completely new to gaming. Someone who has not followed it at all, over time, or learns from observed past mistakes.
Though I COMPLETELY agree with you that people should not worry about the crap. It will always be there, always was. Ignore it and get the games you are interested in. Why call it a 'problem', when you have complete control over your own purchase.
