So did you pay for Xbox's UFC, FIOS, ESPN3, etc etc? How many subscribers in those 'apps' compared to Netflix? Which one is higher? Xbox can't even play Blu-Rays so using Xbox for movies is out of the question. MS is forced to fight for niche programmes that directly compete with Cable providers and they have little to no marketshare in that departement.

If you say MS's goal is to become the centerpiece for home entertainment, then they have failed. They have little to no market share for movies, and they little to no market shares for cable programming.

You pay for PPV's in the UFC app. Everything else, no. You have to be a FIOS customer to use the FIOS app, it basically turns the 360 into a cable box. ESPN3, no, all free. Who knows or cares how they compare in numbers to Netflix? But I gotta lol @ FIOS or ESPN3 being "niche". You've clearly never used either of them. That's cool though.

I never said MS wanted to become the centerpiece for home entertainment, though that could very well be their goal and they are well on their way to it. I said they wanted to stop Sony from becoming it. And they have. Also, if the ability to buy HD movies and/or stream them on 360 is no big deal and its all about BluRay, why are you making a big fuss over Netflix?
