I hate trying to say this cause I know someone will take it the wrong way.
The word Nintendo alone sells a lot of games. I'm not saying they don't have the quality too, but not every nintendo game is a 10/10. However, that doesn't stop most of those games from outselling 3rd party titles.

I'm sure this won't mean much to you as you've made your preference known, but I can think of 50+ ps2 games off the top of my head that I personally own that I consider very good to great. Go to gamerankings (or whatever site), the top 200 games average 83% or higher. Now, I'm pretty sure that's a very good selection. Of course, there are about another 200 games averaging 75% or higher. Are there bad/terrible games? Of course. But I don't see too many people complaining when they have the choice to choose from the 400 best games the system has to offer.
