The question, leaving aside the supplementary Element regarding variables, asked was whether the PS3 is selling better than the 360. Demonstrably, worldwide, it is and has been so doing for years.
Cumulatively, the 360 appears still to have a marginal lead but that lead is being reduced by approximately 40k every week.
Arguments about territories are a smoke screen. The American product sells better in America, the Japanese one sells better in Japan. Big deal. Worldwide is what matters.
Profitability is a whole different ball game and all the evidence suggests the 360 has been more profitable.
