Multiplayer fanboy complainers are the worst. There are still Halo 2 multiplayer fans that rail against the improvements, additions, and enhancements that the later games brought to the series. Halo 4 is the best game in the series from all angles and there are those who just want the exploitable gameplay of Halo 2 so they can dominate. Level the playing field and they hate it because they can't as easily pwn noobs.

As for Gears of War Judgment, the multiplayer fans who are so full of hate all sound like they just wanted to keep playing Gears of War 3. I have news for them, they can still play Gears of War 3. Judgement is an addition to the series with new modes and new things to do. Play the new stuff and enjoy it for being different and if you want the old stuff play the damn old stuff.

Gamers have a duty to inform the developers of their likes and dislikes of a product. That's one of the main reasons why developers make their forums. If gamers felt displeased with changes they shouldn't just shut up and let the developers do what they want. Developers want to please the consumers. The best way to do this is to let the consumers be open and tell them what pleases them and what doesn't. Otherwise, the developers risk releasing a series of games that become less and less in touch with what the fans want.

You're right. I would argue, however, that angry people tend to write angry letters while happy people tend to silently enjoy their happiness. Only the very happy take the time to thank developers for their happiness while everyone with a minor complaint that they believe is earth shattering thinks they need to tell the world how terrible it is.

Developers have to distinguish between the legitimate concerns of their devoted fans and the entitlement filled rants of those who feel crushed by the ever rolling wheel of progress. Gears of War: Judgment, Halo 4, and God of War Ascension all bring new and better things to the table. If devs listened to the angry rants of those who feel entitled  we would have, Gears of War 1: 3, Halo 2: 3 and God of War 3: 2.

I think it's best to ignore those who rail against change and the enhancements that it brings when it still feels like the series. Halo 4 feels like a Halo game, it's just better.

I'm not saying that those who are unhappy are wrong or they shouldn't be able to express themselves. I'm just saying that when I read their complaints I rarely find anything more than, "I want it my way".
