it sold 100 million units, number 1 selling console this gen, whether you can sleep well at night with that fact or not.

I would hardly claim it as a fad. It was just different and everyone tried to get a piece of the pie with rip offs like move and kinect. and they did well too.

it sold 40 million units, number 1 selling album in the 90's, whether you can sleep well at night with that fact or not.

I would hardly claim Backstreet Boys were a fad. (Oh wait I would in a heart beat)

Compare Mellenium with Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon or Jackson's Thriller (both selling 30 years after release) and you will see who were the fads.

This is an interesting argument. You are basically saying that pretty much every hardcore game on the HD consoles is a fad, because it opens strong and drops to bargain prices within months (sometimes weeks) of release. Consequently, the hardcore gamer is a person who is constantly chasing after fads.

What a terrible counter point. You think the albums I listed that weren't fads didn't slow down? You don't think when Rodger Waters
puts out an album it opens with higher sales and drops off? What an awful counter point... you can do better than that
