When did "haters" become legit pissed off consumers? Some of you folk need to ask yourself when is it ok to legitimately criticise a company for a poor product, because looking at some peoples response, Nintendo seems to be infallible.

you bring up a good point. i sloppily made the op without defining hater so let me do it here: A person that simply cannot be happy for another person's success. So rather than be happy they make a point of exposing a flaw in that person. Hating, the result of being a hater, is not exactly jealousy. The hater doesnt really want to be the person he or she hates, rather the hater wants to knock somelse down a notch.

Susan: You know, Kevin from accounting is doing very well. He just bought a house in a very nice part of town.

Jane (hater): If he is doing so well why does he drive that '89 Taurus?

So essentiually a condescending prick...but this doesn't work when talking about consumer products.  Products can be genuinely shit and to point them out is simply pointing out a fact, not being condescending to Nintendo...who is a company, not a person  =s

you can call it what you want. i call it hating. its the same for products as it is for ppl. and for clarification, are you saying Wii U is genuinely shit?

Well then you bring me back to my orginal point - when can you call a product bad without being a "hater"?  You are implying that by default all products are good and to criticise them is to "hate". That is obviously utter bollocks.

No, it is not the same for products. They do not have feelings, an ego, or for people to feel superior than a product due to being insecure....because it's only a product, not a person. Stop asiging human emotions to objects. And yes, I'm saying the WiiU is a very poor product with many flaws and will be lucky to ever have normal sales. Why? Because of logic, not because "Im a hater".

here is an example of hating on a object:

Susan: You know, Ninty invented a way to stream high definition gameplay in realtime, they call it the Wii U. It had one of the best launches in history, selling 3 million units over the holidays.

Jane (hater): If it lauched so well why aren't there more third party exclusives?

To answer your question. you can criticise a product without being a hater if you are not vindictively wishing for that products failure. Sorry if i implied what you think i implied. As far as emotions, that falls into consumers hating on consumers and im not talking about that. Though thats worthy of discussion too. I hope I atleast answered your question. If you think Wii U is genuinely shit, not because you want it to fail, but because of logic. I would just call you illogical, and leave it at that.

That is because 3rd party title & a good launch have nothing in common. They are seperate points. Saying the console is bad because a, b, c, and d....is called making a point.

Many people don't "want it to fail", but it is a terrible product and its sales a currently a disaster.

Also how is it "illogical" to think its dire? It brings nothing new or revolutionary to the market.. and this market is about to go obsolete as the new generation is coming out. This combined with the growth of consoles being media centres and the WiiU doing none of that, why is anyone suprised at these poor sales figures?  We have seen this before in electronics with Marconi so why would it be different this time around? To think otherwise is illogical.
