Sorry, but if the Gizmondo, Nokia N-Gage, and even Playstation Portable are considered to be failures, than the GP2X is also one.
Saying that it never set out to compete with the Nintendo DS or Playstation Portable is an excuse. Any portable that is released competes with the big guys. I could say that the Gizmondo was never set out to compete with anyone else, but that wouldn't be true.
Just because GP2X sold more than the Gizmondo doesn't make it a success. A portable needs to sell millions more than the Gizmondo to be a success. In fact, a portable needs to sell millions more than a Playstation Portable for it to even approach the Nintendo DS in competition.
You know absolutely nothing about the Gizmondo. The Gizmondo has homebrew capabilities that outclass the Playstation Portable and GP2X in many ways. The Gizmondo is just like the GP2X, and Playstation Portable. They are all expensive, all failures, all can perform homebrew, and all have video game libraries that need major work on.
Sorry, but if you can insult the Gizmondo this much, then the GP2X is not better enough than the Gizmondo, since they are very similar, to be considered a success.
But you know what, I don't think the Gizmondo is a failure. I don't think the GP2X is a failure. In my first post, I mentioned that if the Gizmondo, Nokia N-Gage, and even Playstation Portable is considered a failure, than the GP2x, without a doubt, is a failure. However, all of these consoles only failed in terms of sales, and also their video game libraries. But, all of their harware is extremeley high tech, and that is where they all succeed.
N-Gage is more successful than the GP2X. If the N-Gage failed, than the GP2X failed. I don't understand how you can hate the Gizmondo, and love the GP2X, when they are both in amongst the same class of failures, in terms of sales. Also, nobody even knows what the GP2X is.
But remember what I said. They are only failures in terms of popularity. I for one think that the GP2X is more powerful than the Gizmondo in ways, and possibly has better homebrew capabilities. Yet, the exact same can be said about the Gizmondo in comparison to the GP2X.
Why am I even insulting the Playstation Portable? Well....
http://www.pspfanboy.com/2006/10/01/developers-say-psp-has-already-failed/
If developers are saying that the Playstation Portable failed, than it must have.
By the way, the Playstation Portable, although a remarkable system in hardware, has only sold about 20 million units. Since I last checked, every single console that has sold around 20 million units, or less, was considered a failure in popularity (notice that I only consider a console, or portable, to be a failure in popularity. No console is a failure in hardware design, since all portables are marvels in enginuity). Even the Nintendo 64, at around 30 million units, is considered to be a failure, by some. Ever since the Playstation has sold over 100 million consoles, the bar of success in console sales has been drastically raised.
Gizmondo and GP2X are failures in terms of popularity, and successes in terms of hardware design. End of story.
And If you are going to correct me some where in any of my posts, do so in a respectable manner. If you can convince me that the post needs editing, I will do so.I hate it when people do that. I change my mind very easily, and most of the things I say are opinions.
