Now you're on a different subject, though: you were talking about cost-effectiveness, now it's installation ease. As I said already: the keyword is option. Let the consumer know that the HD can be added/replaced at any moment by opening a slot and sliding a standard HD in (because that's all it takes e.g. on the PS3) . If they can't or are not comfortable with trying that, maybe their son or nephew will, or the guy at the desk in 3 minutes or less. Some customers might not like the idea to do that themselves, but still appreciate not having a more expensive extra external device attached through an extra cable. They are probably familiar with people buying extra RAM for their laptops or changing their HD. That operation might not be one that they want to perform, but is a known, estabilished option. If they are really reluctant to do that, let them have an external HD. Why not? I just think that it should not be the only way to increase storage memory on a system that offers games for downloads in the tens of GBs, and where even demos can span several GBs. |
Ok, you have a much more reasonable stance than most people who are complaining in this thread. An internal harddrive slot would be a nice addition to the console. But what Nintendo has done now is not a bad soloution, and leagues better than using proprietary storage.
I LOVE ICELAND!
