And you might want to have a look at the draw distance again and see an optician if you don't think the draw distance is impressive.

I don't know about the sub-HD part, but how is the draw distance impressive when you can clearly see cars and characters disappear in the background and the lego pieces pop up when you are only a few feet away from them?

I think the thing with the draw distance is that it's not consistent.  Sometimes the draw distance is far, others it is short.
