@ The LastStarFighter: this discussion is ridiculous to begin with because who gives a rats ass about the exchange rate? Nintendo can't sell their Wii's now, BEFORE the other consoles release. Instead, You ought to be discussing whether or not the Wii U is the next Sega Saturn.
Then, look at the title of this thead. "Nintendo Soars!" Where? Into the toilet? Nintendo lost $512 million last year NET INCOME, and the stock has been trending downward consistently since 2008. The stock is currently near its 52 week low and near the level it was at in 2004. If you don't believe me, here is a link to the stock data from Yahoo! Finance. http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=NTDOY&t=5y&l=on&z=l&q=l&c=
On Wednesday, the stock was up something like 5% and so TheLastStarFighter makes a statement like "NINTENDO SOARS!" And then look, the next 2 days, Nintendo sheds all but 1.5% of that gain. Talk about a reactionary statement. Not something a claimed "Expert" would do.
The point was the the sentiment in the market is incredibly positive at the moment and yet Nintendo's stock is near the 52 week low. Of course, considering the company lost $512 last year and will probably lost even more this year based on the less than anticipated sales of the Wii U, of course nobody is going to be investing in Nintendo.
