I've never been a fan of shadowy video game hype. Either tell me what it is and when to expect it or don't tell me anything at all.

If this turns out to be a MGS game than what's the point of all of this? If it turns out to be a new IP it will leave people disappointed that it's not a MGS game. If it turns out to be a great game I won't care which it is, but I'll still look back on all this nonsense and wonder what the point was.

Funny pic.

I'm not against fun, but let me ask you this. You're a Sony fan right? Well lets say a Sony fan, (not you, but another Sony fan), gets really excited about this Phantom Pain game based on the little we know about it. When the game finaly is revealed it turns out to be an exclusive Metal Gear game for the Wii U. Everyone expecting to play it may not get to and there are a lot of disapointed fans.

I doubt it's going to be exlcusive, but my reasons for not liking this type of marketing have to do with the way it hypes people up without any info. Since there's no info everyone expect amazing things.

I'd rather just be told that a dev is working on a new game and then later be shown a trailer or a demo and be giving it's title. The Phantom Pain is like a big prank and the punchline is almost certainly that it's a Metal Gear game. I'm not sure I understand why that's fun, but if you are having fun I'm happy for you. But I'm sure that if they just came out and told us the truth you'd be just as happy as I would.
