Commercial success wont be gained without being good at what it does. Word of mouth and good legs are a good indication of a quality product. A poor quality product wont have good word of mouth and a poor quality product wont have a multi-million unit selling sequel.
Again just because you dont like the game, doesnt make it a bad game. Just because it has a metascore that isnt in the 80's, doesnt make it a bad game.
