Agreed.
It annoys me that people complain about Crystal Skull being "unrealistic" when Temple of Doom had (A) a man remaining alive by supernatural means after his heart was ripped out of his body, (B) a working voodoo doll, and (C) a woman hanging about a meter above lava and remaining alive and unscathed.

The main critisizm about the Crystal Skull is its veering from everything being religous in nature to all of a sudden "aliens"

People can bitch all they want about CG, whether something is realistic or not, whether someone should have died or ect.  The fact is the first 3 movies all felt like they were in the same realm of possibility story wise.  Then all of a sudden #4 jumps in and goes "boom aliens"  Kind of doesn't fit into the first 3's lore.

I don't see something different as being bad. The aliens thing fits the 50s era setting.

I can believe in aliens much more easily than I can believe in an ancient box full of ghosts, a working voodoo doll, or a chalice that makes you age a hundred years in two seconds.
