Why are people on these forums obsessed with exclusives but ignore multiplatform games?

Said that exclusives are what move hardware and make the people choose between buy the console A or B. So if you need to talk about the future sales of a console you have to discuss the exclusive support library and not the multiplat.

This is a valid point.

But it's a VIDEO GAME sales forum, not a SONY or NINTENDO or MICROSOFT sales forum. So why don't we pay more attention to multiplatform titles, which are the vast majority of titles? Because we can't use those as ammunition in war of attrition we've been fighting for 18 years.

That's the problem. I think many celebrate exclusive games for their exclusivity. Not for their greatness.

I honestly think there's just enough attention being paid to multiplats in regards to sales.  I may not browse through all of the forums, but I have seen plenty of threads about multiplats that actually move hardware.
