This is one of my own little theories, but I think that Nintendo needs to stop giving their systems such similar names at such a high frequency. It confuses people.
For example: The DS has so many different versions. The DS, DS Lite, DSi, and DSi XL are all the same system. Then they come out with the 3DS and expect people to automatically know that its a completely different system.
I bring this up because so far 2 people I know (dad and a friend) thought that the Wii U was a tablet add-on for the Wii. My friend played with the Wii U and thought it was awesome, and when we went to Gamestop the next day he was surprised that a tablet add-on cost $300.
