So it's widely known as a fact that many Nintendo games have ridiculous legs. But here's the question that no one really bother to ask...why is this so?

Plus, Fire Emblem is TBS (turn based strategy) which doesn't have a huge following besides Civilization.  I love TBS games though such as FE, Advance Wars, Civilization, etc..  I'm actually a little surprised how much demand for FE in USA right now.  Apparently, they didn't ship that many physical copies to USA and there is a shortage in a lot of areas.  I finally tracked down a physical copy but I know many that just gave up and bought it on the eshop (D21, Smeags, and a few others).  So for some reason Fire Emblem is more in demand now then it has ever been in the USA.

Well Fire Embelm Awakening and any new ones after this, will all have 8 year long shelf life.

I hope Fire Emblem becomes a 3DS exclusive like Paper Mario & Kid Icarus did, which will never be on the Wii U literally.
