Actually this is one of the rare times we actually hear anything from Miyamoto in a non Nintendo-direct interview. The other thing is it states the delay of the dual-gamepad support in favor of NFC, so that's business strategy talk right there.

But I guess nobody cares and rather prefers the pissing contests.
