Why not? The first games showed to PS3 was close or even worst than the latest games for PS2... PS4 already show way better games than PS3. The Wii U is more close to PS360 than Wii was to PS2/GC. The third one are just about you need a $500 graphic card to beat the PS4 in graphics.

And the 4th is too close to say Crysis 3 is better than Killzone SF... I think Killzone is better.

PS3 had games in its launch window further beyond PS2 than any PS4 game shown so far is ahead of PS3, I'd say. It's still early days, true, but going from what we've seen so far, Deep Down and Shadowfall aren't as big a leap over God of War Ascension and The Last of Us as say, Motorstorm was over Gran Turismo 4.

As for Wii U, I wouldn't say it's any closer to PS3/360 than Wii was to the Gamecube 4 months into its life; it wasn't until Metroid Prime 3 and Mario Galaxy that the Wii really separated itself from its predecessor graphically.
