I wasn't sure if I'm just not very good or if it happens to everyone, but I almost always struggle to keep my TP up after boss battles, so I try to leave almost as soon as I can once it's over. |
What's your party/skills/strategy?

Lower offense from the beginning, blind/paralyze if I can, enhance magic, enhance defense, protect ally, healer in the back row, and do lots of magic attacks each turn, and I repeat this. When I got the burst skill, I let the most powerful character use them.
Oh, and I would also use fast attacks. I'm not that far yet, to be honest. I also don't use a lot of items either. Only recently started finding items that healed TP.

The TP restorers are going to remain expensive and scarce for quite some time. Have you considered focusing more on forging to inflict the status effects, and using dancers in lieu of medics to save TP on that front? The Runemasters' Free Energy skill is also great once levelled, as it effectively halves TP consumption.

I actually do have a weapon that inflicts status. One for poison, one for darkness. Sadly, the poison one is the more effective one. There aren't many powerful weapons I have access to that have many slots for these things. However it definitely is something I consider.
Also, I honestly wasn't sure what each class really did but I liked the way mine was playing out except for the fact that I kept on running low on TP. One good thing I have that helps save TP is the medic's patch up that helps prevent me from spending TP during regular battles.

I wound up skipping the medic myself and focusing on dancers/landsknetch for early game healing, supplementing that with arcanist abilities once you can dual-class. It's been quite effective so far, but post-game might be a different issue...
In any case, part of why I love the series is just how much diversity you can have in your setups for most of the game (again, post-games seem to demand min-maxing). I suppose running low on TP isn't even that big of an issue, since you're unfortunately limited to a mere 60 items in your inventory. :^/
