Platnium Studios is an increadible studio. This game sold well because people knew who was developing it. Being a Metal Gear game helps, but this isn't a main line Metal Gear Game, where DMC is.

This is a case where a small developer made a game which outsold the bigger guys, and I just want to say.

no.....it isn't, read the title of the game. Metal Gear Rising, not Metal Gear Solid.

But both Metal Gear Solid and Metal Gear Rising are part of the Metal Gear series, which also have Metal Gear and Metal Gear 2.

But Metal Gear Rising isn't a part of the Metal Gear Solid Series. It's a spinoff, a side game. Similar to how Halo Wars isn't a part of the main Halo series. Stuff happens in the game which is a part of the story, but it's not a main series game.

If MGR doesn't sell well, that doesn't hurt the Metal Gear Solid franchise one bit. If DmC sells badly, that could kill the franchise.
