I think some would be more charitable if the piece itself was decent. But it isn't.

The research is slapdash, the figures are misleadding, and the author makes too many assumptions to justify their  conclusions.

So do many of the haters. That´s the problem. People want so badly to defend their point-of-view that they don´t care about taking misleading information to counter argumentation. Is it that hard just to indicate the points of concern about what the person wrote, instead of trying to be smart with the same mistakes ?

that´s why I say it´s a shame. Sometimes neither side is correct, the fanatical fanboyism makes people blind when discussing games, sometimes..

The problem is EVERYTHING in this piece relies upon assumptions and misinformation. If you don't take them as read, there is no argument to respond to. And frankly, I don't see an excessive amount of "fanatical fanboyism." Most people were content to comment about the formatting or actual, factual errors in the argument.

In this case, the OP is wrong. Not necessarily in their conclusions, but in the premises they use to prove their point. There is no need to discuss anything else.

I believe in honesty, civility, generosity, practicality, and impartiality.
