RolStoppable said: Your post could be quite a bit shorter without the apology paragraphs at the start and at the end. 1. It's pretty clear that the Wii U was launched in an unfinished state, so it's not surprising that Nintendo's launch games don't have online play. There will be games with online multiplayer in the future, because the Wii already had them. 2. Since you haven't collected all gold medals in NSMBU, achieving stuff in games can't be all that important to you. The challenge mode in NSMBU also keeps a replay of your best attempt which you can use to show off your skills. 3. A headstart is an advantage for a reason. It allows a company to fix problems before the competition arrives. Nintendo has already promised system updates for spring and summer. As for multimedia, Nintendo has video streaming services on board, plus an apparently good internet browser. What else do people really want from a console? But most importantly, why did I even write this? |
It could be shorter but if it was shorter then it would look like Im just trying to bash the WiiU. I feel these are all problems heading into the next generation of consoles. The casual crowd have moved onto phones and the Wii Fit crowd will likely not return either.
A headstart is great if you take advantage of it like the X360 did. The WiiU is not taking advantage of its headstart at the moment.
And achievemtns has a competive side to comparing with friends.

We don't know what the launch of ps4 or nextbox might look like. Nintendo will have wind waker soon, a new mario game around christmast, and some system updates before this christmast. So if the new consoles comes out of the gate in a similar way to wii u, nintendo will have their problems fixed already, and therefore have a advantage. Nintendo is using this year to build up the system.
