The Nintendo U would have been a far better choice. Keeping Wii in the name without adding a numeral was a mistake especially given the uninformed target audience. The Nintendo faithful and core gamers are responsible for it's near Wii like sale at launch and the casuals whom Nintendo needed for legs just are not there. That's why Sony are sticking with a numerical order ad M$ will also see Nintendo's current problem and work around it too.

I think Sony's naming standard is best--just gets straight to the point--but MS's method works too. Neither 360 or the potential use of Infinity or 8 for the NextBox sound like add-ons, while the Kinect does.

Still, even if they called the NextBox the Xbox+ or something, I'm sure Microsoft will do a FAR better job of promoting it as a new console than Nintendo has done with the WiiU. That's the real problem, not the name.
