Super Mario 64 had it, taking off two or four slices of your health depending on the height of your fall. Since it was such an influential game, other 3D platformers on the N64 had it as well (both Banjo-Kazooie games, Conker). Super Mario Sunshine had it too, but Super Mario Galaxy removed it most likely for game logic reasons. You can't have Mario shooting from one planet to another without ever taking any damage and then include fall damage. |
That's what happends if your brother used to be a playstation guy. Oh well, I will buy them when they come to the wii u virtual console. I'm most used to ratchet, sly and the newer mario 3d platformers. I don't think that 3d land have it either, and that one isn't like galaxy (gravity wise and shoting-to-plantets wise). I really don't like fall damage in any platformers, I just find it anoying.
